Reeds Fund Calls for Project Lifesaver Implementation in Baltimore City to Protect Vulnerable Residents

Baltimore, MD – February 24, 2025 – The Reeds Fund is spearheading an initiative to bring Project Lifesaver, a proven life-saving program, to Baltimore City. This effort aims to safeguard individuals with cognitive conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism, who are at risk of wandering.

Project Lifesaver employs radio frequency technology to quickly locate individuals who have wandered. Participants wear a small, personalized transmitter, and in the event of a missing person incident, trained law enforcement personnel use specialized tracking equipment to pinpoint their location. This technology significantly reduces search times, enhancing the likelihood of a safe return.

"In Baltimore City, we have a responsibility to protect our most vulnerable community members," stated Matthew Reeds, Co-Founder of Reeds Fund. "Project Lifesaver has a remarkable track record of success, and we believe it can make a profound difference in the lives of families here. By implementing this program, we can provide peace of mind and ensure the swift return of those who may wander."

The Reeds Fund recognizes the challenges faced by families caring for individuals with cognitive impairments. Wandering incidents can cause immense stress and pose serious safety risks. Project Lifesaver offers a reliable and efficient solution to mitigate these risks.

The Reeds Fund is calling upon Baltimore City residents, community leaders, and elected officials to support this vital initiative.
